What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapists assess, diagnose and treat people with movement problems. Whatever your injury or condition, a physiotherapist will help you gain as much movement and physical independence as possible, so you can resume your normal job, lifestyle and hobbies. They also educate and empower you to avoid injuries and maintain a fit, healthy body for life.
Physiotherapy integrates clinical expertise with evidence-based research. Our practitioners are trained to assess the underlying causes of joint, muscle and nerve disorders, educate you about managing your condition, and advise on ways to prevent pain and injury. Treatment will often involve a combination of manual therapy techniques, joint and soft tissue mobilisation or manipulation, specific therapeutic exercises, electrotherapy, acupuncture and strapping or taping techniques. We may also work closely with doctors, hospital consultants, podiatrists and sports massage therapists.
Whether you need rehabilitation following surgery or injury, or have a chronic condition that affects your movement and comfort, a consultation could help.
