A leading provider of specialist physiotherapy in Stockport.
We are now able to offer face-to-face physiotherapy appointments following an initial remote consultation and screening assessment. Please read our Visiting the Clinic leaflet for further information.
For those who are unable to attend the clinic in person, remote consultations are still available. Please read our remote consultation instructions for further guidance.
Remote physiotherapy consultations
Online physiotherapy has been shown to be very effective. We follow the same format we use with you in clinic – a lot of our assessment process is gleaned from what you tell us and our experience of observing how you move as well as using our expert knowledge of special diagnostic tests.
We cannot use palpation, manual therapy, or acupuncture, but we can use a number of evidence-based treatment techniques such as exercise (to strengthen, stretch, mobilise, and stabilise), myofascial self-release, acupressure, and others to reduce your pain and keep you moving.

Specialist physiotherapy treatment at Marple Physio
Our physiotherapy integrates specialist clinical expertise with evidence-based research with the aim of providing the highest levels of quality care and achieving the best possible outcomes for our clients.
Wherever possible, we will work with you to prevent the need for long-term physiotherapy treatment visits by identifying and addressing underlying causes of joint, muscle, and nerve disorders; we will inform you how you can effectively manage your condition and will equip you with the required skills and knowledge, so that you can independently continue your rehabilitation to prevent further pain or injury.

Your initial consultation
During your initial consultation, you will be able to discuss any concerns or difficulties with one of our highly experienced practitioners, who will also provide you with a comprehensive clinical assessment.
Our physiotherapist will fully explain their findings and any diagnosis with you before discussing treatment options, which can usually begin straight away.
Initial consultations are usually 45 minutes long and usually include both assessment and treatment.
We would request you wear comfortable, loose clothing for the purposes of your physiotherapy; for knee or lower limb problems, please wear or bring a pair of shorts for ease of assessment and subsequent treatment.
You can book your initial physiotherapy consultation and any follow up sessions online or, if you would like to find out more about how our physiotherapy can help you, please contact us and one of our physiotherapy team will be happy to discuss your needs and offer further advice without obligation.
Our physiotherapy techniques
Physiotherapy works as a movement and exercise treatment, involving individually tailored combinations of manual therapy and joint and soft tissue mobilisation or manipulation, which delivers corrective retraining of movement dysfunctions.
Electrotherapy, acupuncture, and strapping or taping techniques are also used effectively to manage pain and offer clients the best possible outcomes of their treatment.

Physiotherapy gift vouchers
Physiotherapy assessment (and treatment) gift vouchers are now available to buy online.
Your personalised pdf gift voucher is valid for 6 months and will be emailed directly to you for you to print or forward onto the recipient.
Sports massage and Pilates gift vouchers are also available.

In order to provide the most effective physiotherapy treatment, we always work closely with our clients’ GPs or consultants, and will refer you for further medical consultation, if needed.
For those looking to return to fitness safely, we are delighted to recommend qualified personal trainers Ben Potter and Olly Freeman from VIDE Fitness. We are also pleased to be able to offer our clients reflexology as an optional complementary therapy, and are more than happy to discuss any potential benefits of this with you during your treatment or consultation.
At Marple Physio, all our physiotherapists are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
