Specialist Pilates for scoliosis
Scoliosis is a medical condition in which a person’s spine is curved side to side, often with a rotation too.
The majority (80%) of curves are idiopathic, which means the cause is unknown or that there is no single factor that contributes to the development.
Exercise can be really beneficial as a primary management strategy for curvatures up to 35°.
Exercise for scoliosis
Here at Marple Physiotherapy we specialise in Pilates for scoliosis and offer individual specialist scoliosis Pilates sessions, which include an assessment and personalised programme.
The focus on a four-phase program of elongation, breathing, stretch, and strengthen, is designed to correct and maintain spine curve and rotation, and to keep in control of any related pain.
