Maintaining a safe, comfortable, & efficient workspace.
Our specialist occupational health and ergonomics physiotherapy offers a holistic approach to physiotherapy treatment.
If you have staff who are regularly off work with pain, or regularly reporting pain that they feel is aggravated by their role, then we can help.
By working closely with HR departments and line managers, we aim to provide practical adjustments to improve work satisfaction for the individual, as well as improve efficiency and productivity for the organisation.
Workplace and DSE assessments
Our occupational health physiotherapists use their anatomy knowledge as well as movement observational skills to demonstrate association between symptoms and possible aggravating work tasks.
Whether the work is heavy and repetitive or static and sedentary, cost-effective solutions can be found by educating staff on how to perform work duties more ergonomically, and using smart work behaviour such as task rotation and improved posture – not just recommending new equipment.

What we can offer
With experience of conducting more than 300 workplace assessments in a wide variety of industries, the specialist occupational health physiotherapist at Marple Physiotherapy offers:
- Office workstation (DSE) assessments for a range of complex conditions with a follow-up report for the business.
- Group seminars on best practice on DSE workstation set-ups.
- Manual Handling training, using HSE models such as the MAC, ART and RAPP tools.
- Ergonomic vehicle assessments for high mileage drivers struggling to complete their quota.
- Workplace assessments at mechanised and manual production line industries such as distribution centres, warehouses and packaging companies.
- Return to work workplace adjustments assessments. If an employee becomes disabled, or develops a health condition due to illness or injury, the employer is legally required to make reasonable adjustments to enable return to work, or to help them remain in work – we can advise on this.
- Assessments available for individuals as well as multiple employees. Reduced rates available for multiple assessments booked on the same day.
These can all be complemented by in-clinic treatment for the employee at Marple Physiotherapy, to ensure a full recovery and continued attendance at work.
Occupational physiotherapy can typically produce a return on investment for an organisation of £3 for every £1 spent, by reducing sickness absence and improving workrate efficiency.
